Holguín

Holguín is a city in eastern Cuba. From its center stretches the Calixto García park, where a statue of the eponymous general from the 19th century was erected. The Museum of Provincial History, located in a colonial barracks, includes historical objects, such as the Hacha de Holguín, a carved ax head dating from the 15th century. For its part, the Natural History Museum has an extensive collection of plant specimens, as well as birds and other stuffed animals. The two towers of the Cathedral of San Isidoro stand out for their red domes. It is one of the most important cities in Cuba and it is the prelude before arriving at the beautiful Guardalavaca beach.
