Gibara

Gibara is a small city located on the north coast of the eastern part of the Republic of Cuba. The Villa Blanca as it is also known, is the head of the municipality of the same name, belonging to the Province of Holguín.

Founded on January 16, 1817, Gibara, comes from the aboriginal word Jibá. The small city has a rich history and culture of its own according to the lineage of its foundation and a beautiful and exuberant landscape, beautiful architectural sites and a perfect layout of its houses, streets and parks, but the greatest wealth according to visitors is its people, cooperative , human, affectionate and a bit egomaniacal, proud of her town and its history.

The Villa Blanca although small, has a peculiar charm, the contrast of an architectural heritage treasured for two centuries, its exuberant landscapes, and the sense of belonging and the cultural roots of its people, makes everyone who visits it fall in love with it. and is forced to return again and again to this land, which, according to Admiral Christopher Columbus, "is the most beautiful land that human eyes have seen."
